The Prosecution General challenged immediately the court verdict that
didn’t allow them to seize the server of the High Inspectorate of
Declaration and Audit of Assets.
The Tirana Court of First Instance and the Tirana Court of Appeal had rejected the request of the Prosecution General, which has the self declarations and verifications of all politicians and high-level officials through the years.
The Prosecution General started investigating the Chief Inspector of the Declaration and Audit of Assets, Shkelqim Ganaj. According to the Prosecution, he has not reported any case of conflict of interest for the past three years, although there are suspicions that these cases have existed.
After starting the investigations, the Prosecution seized a series of documents from the Inspectorate, but this action was declared illegal by the Court of First Instance of Appeal, which rejected all six orders for seizing documents.
