The German Ambassador to Tirana, Susanne Schütz, said the “Marubi
Museum” is a unique historic treasure that preserves Albania’s cultural
heritage.

“It is a pleasure for me to be here today and donate 7000 archive boxes and 82.000 special envelopes for preserving photo negatives. This is more than 4 tons of materials that the German government has donated, with a total value of 70.000 EUR. The German Federal government has supported 20 projects for preserving cultural values in Albania, since 1989”, said the German Ambassador to Tirana.

The Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro, and the Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushat, thanked Ambassador Schütz for the donation.

“On January 2014, we found these treasures in a small humid room, in very bad conditions, hidden from the eyes of the public and of foreign visitors”, Minister Kumbaro said.

“Thanks to this project that was made possible by the German government, we took a decisive step in our efforts to promote the best values that show the European identity of Albanians”, said the Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati.
