The Albanian Road Authority say they have taken measures to put into
function the national roads that have been damaged by the rains.
“The Vlore-Fushe Dukat road remains problematic, with heavy waters damaging the road”, said Dashamir Gjika, General Director f the Authority.
He says that it is mainly caused by the amortization of roads especially near small municipalities. To bring them to normality, according to Gjika, these roads need financial intervention and improved maintenance process.
“These roads need 400 million USD to return to normality. Not being able to handle such a huge amount, we have a project with the World Bank in the next five years, with a 150 million USD investment”, Gjika declared.
