The government of Kosovo gave the green light of the implementation of
the agreement between Prishtina and Belgrade. The full implementation of
the plan will be made within six months.
According to the Kosovo Prime Minister, Hashim Thaci, after the local elections and the declarations of results, they will create the association that will turn the governing in full accordance with the European card of self-governing, based on the Kosovo laws.
“This agreement has compromises, but we have been assured that every compromise will serve to the interests of the Kosovo citizens from south to north”, Thaci declared.
In the following months, Kosovo and Serbia are obliged to vote all the legal changes required for the implementation of this agreement.
As regards the law enforcing troops, according to the agreement, both parties should create a work group so that police officers in northern Kosovo can integrate with Prishtina’s command chai, so that they can be paid only by the Kosovo institutions.
Until the end of the year, they will end the integration of the judiciary institutions, etc. During this government meeting, the Kosovo main diplomat reacted for the Macedonian presidency, which did not invite Kosovo in the regular meeting of regional presidents.
The government also reacted to the arrests carried out by EULEX, who took under custody Drenica group commanders, accused by EULEX of war crimes.
“The government of Kosovo has complete trust on the right war of the Kosovo Liberation Army and its commanders and fighters. This war gave Kosovo independence, a democratic state and a close partnership with the international community, the United States, the European Union and the NATO”, Prime Minister thaci declared.
The Minister of Education, Rame Buja, declared that no one should get away with crimes, but he underlined that arresting commanders whose mission was defending the civilian population is unacceptable and could hide political purposes.
