As part of the Vienna Summit, Prime Ministers of Albania, Kosovo and Serbia held e trilateral meeting where the importance of the implementation of the Nish-Prishtinë-Durrës highway project was discussed.

Beside Edi Rama, Isa Mustafa and Aleksandar Vucic, heads of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and European Bank of Investments joined in, together with the Austrian Foreign Minister, Kurz and EU enlargement commissioner Hahn.

Prime Minister Rama stressed this project – together with the Adriatic-Ionian highway – are European projects that will promote interconnection between Western Balkans countries. He said these two projects need to begin as soon as possible with the financial support from European Bank for Cooperation and Development and European Investment Bank.

Serbian counterpart Vucic said that thanks to the Nish-Prishtinë-Durrës highway project, Beograd and Prishtina would be only 3 hours away from each other and Durrës would be the nearest sea port for Serbia.

Feasibility studies for this projects will end on early months of 2016, while EBCD and EIB will finance them together with EU institutions.
