Prime Minister Rama meets Turkish President

04/02/2017 00:00

After attending an official visit in Prishtina, the Albanian Prime
Minister went to another official trip, this time in Istanbul, where he
met with the Turkish President, Recep Taip Erdogan.

The meeting focused on the Vlore Airport, Albanian Airlines and other strategic investments.

Rama has been discussing how our country needs to build new airports, and how the monopoly of 2004, the agreement for privatizing the Tirana Airport, was against our nation’s interests, because it didn’t allow for others to be used within our borders.

The government has kept negotiating for building three other airports in Vlore, Saranda and Kukes, which would help our economy, especially tourism.

Turkey has been seen by Prime Minister Rama as strategic partner for Albania, since he came in power in 2013.

Top Channel has learned that the visit will last one day, and the Prime Minister will return this Sunday, to attend the funeral of Dritero Agolli, one of Albania’s best known authors who passed away this Friday.
