The trial against Dritan Prifti is about to get closed, after a result
given by the Supreme Court this Monday which considered as invalid the
video showing Dritan Prifti, then Minister of Economy and
Privatizations, and his Deputy, Leonard Beqiraj.
As expected, the Court could not have a decision different to that of the former Deputy Prime Minister Ilir Meta, also involved in a video scandal filmed by the same appliances which also were found invalid.
The Prifti-Beqiraj video was broadcasted on the media, while it was found by the US experts when Prifti’s computer was sent as evidence at the General Prosecution while Meta was the defendant.
The Penal College of the Supreme Court found the video unusable, and for the defending lawyers this meant that the case would be suspended, which most likely is going to happen with this trial too.
The session will be held on Friday on September 14th. The former Minister of Economy, Dritan Prifti, and his Deputy, were accused in 2010 for corruption of high rank officials.
