The Institution of Statistics says that the cost of life has increased in the last month, after five months of gradual fall.
“Shqip” newspaper says that the Consumption Price Index increased with 0.4% during October, compared to September, while the annual inflation was 3%.
The change of this tendency was expected due to the end of the agricultural production period and winter’s approach. The government is helping the price increase by increasing the university fees with 3.4%. Oil and gas increased with 0.8%, due to the new tax imposed by the government.
The index of food and non-alcoholic foods increased with 1%, compared to one month ago. The 6.9% increase is included in the subgroup “vegetables and potatoes”. Here there is a special increase of peppers with 31%, eggplants with 29%, tomatoes with 21.5%, beans with 18.8% and cucumbers with 7.7%, etc.
The fruits have increased with 0.7% in total, while oranges increased with 8.5%, grape with 6.9, pears 1.2, etc. Other fruits priced decreased, such as kiwi with 11.8%, lemon 8,2m apples 6.7, etc.
In October, prices grew even for other foods, such as milk, cheese and eggs with 1%, sugar with 0.2, oils with 0.1% etc.
