Court of Appeals changed the preventive measures from “preventive custody in prison”
to “house arrest” for Emiliano Shullazi, arrested on the day of local
elections.

The preventive measures were changed by a judge panel headed by Judge Alaudin Malaj. The Prosecution will address the Supreme Court for returning the preventive custody for the charges of illegal possession of firearms, illegal possession of an official uniform and for intimidating a citizen on May 8th.

Shullazi, in the car of whom police found firearms, bulletproof jackets and police radios, had said earlier at the Court of Tirana that the firearm was a trophy and the bulletproof was not illegal. Shullazi pretended that the gun was bought as a trophy in Turkey, while the bulletproof jacket was bought in USA.

During the arrest of Shullazi and his friends, the Police officially declared that he was arrested while driving with a bulletproof jacket and three police radios. The Police seized in his car three pistols, two knives and small quantities of Cannabis Sativa.
