Denmark and Netherland, two of EU’s most developed countries, have also been two of most important contributors to the development of Albanian civil society and independent media in the last 20 years.

Respective ambassadors, Danish Karsten Ankjær Jensen and Dutch Henk van den Dool, visited on a bilateral invitation Top Channel’s studios at the International Center of Culture.

The first visit was at “Fiks Fare” studios and News Room. These two countries’ investment is even visible on some of the equipments used by journalists.

Both ambassadors expressed their impressions on Top-Channel’s main programs, and “Fiks Fare” seems to be part of their personal preference.

The two important European ambassadors attended a closed-door meeting with Top Media President, Mrs. Vjollca Hoxha, and main directors of National Television Top-Channel.

Freedom of speech and rule of law; equality and relations between law and legal courts; political situation, election campaign and everyday problems that free media faces on the job were some of the matters that attracted both ambassadors’ interest during their visit in the Top Channel studios.

Both parts exchanged information and opinions, and agreed that freedom of speech is one of main pillars that indicate the real democracy level in a free country. The ambassadors gave their positive opinion on Top Channel’s professionalism and audience, and they also expressed their readiness to support freedom of speech and free press in Albania.
