The annual meeting of the Albanian President with the journalists
started with one minute of silence for the journalists of Charlie Hebdo.
The Head of State declared that the media freedom and the causes they are establishing are the best measurements for the standards of democracy.
“Even why you criticize us very often, the people of politics and institutions, I am convinced that the real concern would be your silence, not your critics. For me, this is one more chance to judge ourselves compared to others, the society, the institutions, the Constitution and the needs of this country. You are those who improve our daily lives of communication, information. And the democratic standards of our society”, Nishani declared.
President Nishani honored journalist “Enkelejda Skenderasi” of News 24 for special civilian merits, after she lost her lives on her duty.
