President, Topi: To be elected with transparency

The Albanian President, Bamir Topi, declared that legislative
institution and its parliamentary activity plays a key role for
fulfilling the EU integration criteria, especially with the electoral
and parliamentary reforms, and also the election of the new president
through a transparent  process, in order to guarantee the democratic and
independent balance to the constitutional institutions.

The Head of the Albanian state released this declaration during a meeting with the Parliamentary Group for the relations of Germany with Southeastern State, led by Peter Vajs and members Kristel Apah-Kasan and Andreas Lamel, who are holding an informing visit in Wester Balkan. In this meeting, according to the Presidential official press release, was present the Ambassador of Germany, Karola Muller Holtkemper.

The President made a detailed summary of the reforms undertaken by Albania for reinforcing the rule of law.

The Parliamentary Group representatives valued the personal and institutional contribution of President Topi and the key role of Albania as regards peace and security in Balkans, for a clear planning towards the integration and Euro-Atlantic structures.
