President starts race for Governor

One day after Ardian Fullani was discharged by the Parliament as
Governor of the Bank of Albania and member of the Supervisory Council,
President Bujar Nishani announced the vacancies for his post.
The President followed the same recruiting procedure as the Prime Minister, by offering an application e-mail address for anyone who is interested, at [email protected].
Despite the Prime Minister’s conviction that a foreign governor would be better for the Bank, the President’s specifically says that this offer is made to any Albanian citizen from within or outside our country, by referring to the current law of the Bank of Albania.
However, the President and the Prime Minister seem having good operation for this procedure. President Nishani declared that it is not the case for institutions to go against each other, while the Prime Minister said he was convinced that the President is able to find the right name for leading the Bank. They both declared their readiness to cooperate on this matter.
The president left a two-week deadline for all who are interested, until October 5th, one week more than the deadline left by the government for the vacancies at the Supervisory Council, which expires on September 30th.
