The President of Malta, Larie Louise Coleiro Preza, attended an official
visit to Tirana today. The EU Presidency led by Malta, she said, will
be there to help Albania.
During a meeting with the Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, Coleiro Preza said that Albania will have a strong ally in the EU during 2017.
Preza and Meta agreed to improve the relations between both countries in economy and also politics.
The Maltese President underlined that it is time for economic cooperation and mutual exchanges to intensify especially in medical tourism, maritime transportation, education and cultural tourism.
On the same line, the Parliament Speaker noted that Albania and Malta, countries with similar Mediterranean characteristics, have many things in common and as result many trade exchange potentials.

Mrs.Coleiro Preza met with the Foreign Minister and discussed several issues of the region, such as security and coordination for the immigration flux.
Minister Bushati and President Coleiro Preza signed a cooperation memorandum between both departments for Albania’s EU integration process.
