The Albanian President, Bujar Nishani, voted together with his wife, Odeta, and appealed citizens to be active and vote:
“We have a real freedom today that we should make a good use of. My message of gratitude goes to the commissioners and ballot counters, who are today the judges and managers of the will of the Albanian people. Their work is a huge responsibility and real contribution for the country and democracy. I appeal citizens to participate massively because everyone today has the same power. I guarantee them that the vote is secret and free, so they must vote for what they feel is best for their lives”, the President declared.
He asked the party leaders to give positive messages and be competitors, not adversaries.
