President Nishani attended European parliament ceremony for honoring Helmut Kohl

The Albanian President, Bujar Nishani, was present at today’s ceremony in honor of the former German Chancellor, Helmut Kohl.

The ceremony was held at the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

The Albanian President expressed his condolences for the death of Chancellor Kohl, and said that he prays for his soul to rest in peace.

On behalf of the Albanian people, Nishani expressed the most sincere condolences to Mr.Kohl’s family members and the highest German authorities, present in the room.

Nishani valued the visionary role and contribution of Chancellor Kohl for the unification of Germany and Europe, and for the strong support he gave Albanians to get detached from the communist dictatorship and to start the first steps of democracy.
