Albanian president Ilir Meta welcomed today the postponement of the anti-defamation law, calling it a “reflection serving a great purpose”.
“I welcome the positive and responsible decision of the Assembly to withdraw from voting the so-called ‘anti-defamation package’. Today’s reflection serves a greater common purpose, the protection of the constitutional rights of all Albanian citizens, at the same time guaranteeing the European and democratic standards”, said Meta in a statement.
