President Ilir Meta in a press conference said today regarding the violence two days ago in the offices of the FRD party, that the ruling socialists are trying to undermine pluralism, in relation to the incident where President Meta violently clashed with the municipal police officers looking to close the FRD party offices.
The cause was a request from the municipality of Tirana, saying that staff should leave the building as it is depreciated.
Meta in his speech, described the event it as an attack of the majority to undermine pluralism in the country and a flagrant violation of the law.
Meta: “The violent attack that took place in the FRD offices only after its electoral agreement with the DP party, is an intolerable behavior of the majority. This is an attempt to undermine pluralism in the country, an attack that contradicts all the principles of state law, all the actions of the mayor of Tirana Veliaj and his officials have been committed in violation of their duty. His entire duty is in violation of the spirit of democracy and equality before the law.”
