President Meta: “No other path for Albania besides EU”

There have been no more wars in Balkan. Its countries are in different phases for joining the EU. One of the block’s requirements is that Balkan countries must resolve their border conflicts before joining.
The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, reminds how 25 years ago, Pope Francis landed in Albania and said that “the sentiment of revenge ruins people, and the sentiment of patriotism must not end up in aggressive nationalism”.
Meta said that the Pope’s message feeds within us the sentiment of pardon, tolerance, harmony, love and self-restraint.
”Time proved that aggressive nationalism will bloody the peoples of Balkan leaving behind fear, hate and enmity”, Meta said, adding that Albanians are determined in their path towards the European family, to which we all belong.
