The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, said that it is a right of every citizen to increase a sense of accountability among government leaders for every tax they pay.
“I have tried to give the right messages, but I want to underline that we don’t have the luxury to ruin a single flower, which are now blossoming with the coming of spring. This is due to the damage that our country has suffered in the past by the lack of dialogue, by the spirit of confrontation. It is necessary that every government decision should be carefully studied and consulted, and it is a right of every citizen to ask the local and central government to be held responsible for every tax they pay”, the President says.
“However, I hope that there will be a general reflection and dialogue, which will help to improve the country’s situation and the trust in our joint institutions”, Meta said.
