The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, broke the government’s boycott at the SEECP summit in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, explained the stance of Albania to not be part of this summit.

Cakaj said that Albania had cancelled the participation in the SEECP summit in solidarity with Kosovo, which had received an unacceptable invitation from Bosnia, different from that of the other sovereign countries.

In this summit, president Meta declared that it was regrettable that Kosovo, the next host of this initiative, was forced to not attend this summit.

“How can we expect to have an effective cooperation when some of the participants of this forum are doing everything possible to exclude an entire country and state”, President Meta declared.
