The President of Albania, Bujar Nishani, met with representatives of the
Recycling Industry and members of the Recycling Association who asked
him to decree the law for waste materials.

The Association explained the negative effects produced by the absence of this law and advised him to ignore misinformation and attempts to use this for political usage. According to the industrialists, there is not only economic profit, but also environmental gains.

President Nishani previously met with environmentalists, who demanded the opposite. Nishani had said during this meeting that public interest would prevail. With the recyclers, the President said that it is important that such sensible matters like the environment, business, economy and structure, should have a more powerful voice of its actors.

“These sensible issues should not be politicized, so that they don’t fail”, he said.

This was the declaration of the President, who has apparently valued the “Green Industry”. The President guaranteed the participants that the law in question would be treated with maximal seriousness and that he would decide based on arguments, continuing further consults with individuals of the same area.

The Presidency explained that this meeting with representatives of the Alliance Against Waste Import and legal environmental experts was held before he gives his stance and first interpreter of the Constitution.
