The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, greeted the consensus reached for
the Justice Reform. He insisted that the red lines of the USA were
limit that was not crossed until the last minute.

Rama underlined that different from what Basha considered a victory of the opposition, this reform is a historic victory for the Albanian citizens.

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, announced a few moments before Rama that the consensus for the justice reform had been reached, after a formulation proposed by Commissioner Hahn for the role of the international partners in the vetting process.

“I concluded an intensive communication with the European and American partners. After the recommendation from Commissioner Hahn, we agreed that the role of the International Mission will be as a recommendation, and the final decision-making will be completely up to the people of Albania”, Basha said.

The Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, greeted the decision of the Democratic Party and said that this consensus is a historic achievement.

He expressed his gratitude to Commission Hahn, whose intervention has apparently helped reaching the agreement.

Meta also said that the justice reform is a huge achievement for all Albanians

The President of Albania, Bujar Nishani, congratulated the political actors involved in the Justice Reform process for the consensus that was reached today.

“This process and all other efforts showed the importance of this process for the future of Albania”, the President says, wishing the Parliament good luck with the voting of the reform.
