17 days after the “Vetting” law passed in the Albanian Parliament, the
President of Albania, Bujar Nishani, has not decided yet about decreeing
it.
Sources said for Top Channel a few days ago that the President was expected to give an opinion about this law until September 16th, but it didn’t happen.
Although the President has time until Monday, according to the law, today he is traveling to the USA for the UN Assembly.
The Presidency published this Friday some decrees signed by the President, but no information has been given about the “Vetting” law.
The Democratic Party has boycotted the voting by warning to send it to the Constitutional Court, but recently have been silent about it.
The President may decree the law in silence, which, if it happens, it would make it enter in effect within the first two weeks of October.
