Leader of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived today in Albania to inaugurate the apartments donated by Turkey for the residents affected by the earthquake of November 26, 2019 in Albania.
Speaking from the northeastern town Laçi, Erdogan stated that the principle of brotherhood requires staying close when in need, and not when called upon.
“Today we are handing over these 522 housing units that have cost approximately 42 million euros. I want to wish you all the families a happy residence. I thank God that even during this process, even though Turkey was tested with many natural disasters, earthquakes and fires, we fulfilled our promise to Albania and the Albanians.
“I hope that this friendship with such a strong foundation will continue indefinitely. During the pandemic and during the difficult situation, all the powerful states locked themselves, but we did the opposite.
“We went outside our borders in order to stay close to our brothers with every opportunity we had,” Erdogan said among other things.
