Eduard Kukan, the head of the European Parliament for Balkan greeted
Bujar Nishani for his election as President, but declared that the
process is another lost chance for Albania’s EU integration road.
“I want to felicitate Mr. Bujar Nishani as the new President of Albania, and I hope that he will be able to join and represent all citizens of Albania, and serve their interests in the best possible way. The presidential elections were another chance for the Albanian political parties to confirm their promises for dialogue and political cooperation. Unfortunately, this process is another lost chance. I am afraid that without concrete results for the improvement of the political life, the country could lose other important chances”, Kukan declared.
Kukan reminds that Albania’s challenges demand cooperation for the European and internal policies. He hopes that the new president will make all efforts for turning this into a political reality.
