The Albanian MPs of the Presheva Valley have announced
the creation of an association between the Albanian cities, and the
creation of new communes, same as the Serbs in Kosovo.
But the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Serbia declared that the Albanians are playing with fire. However, for some other political parties, this doesn’t seem a concern.
Ragmi Mustafa, Mayor of Presheva, said that since the governments of Prishtina and Belgrade have agreed for the creation of the Association of Serbian Communes in the Republic of Kosovo, there’s no reason why the Presheva Valley shouldn’t do the same.
Civil Society and the Party for Democratic Action said that an organization so quickly and without consultations is a political game that damages the Albanians of Serbia.
“This is in favor of the Serbians in Kosovo, and a damage for the Albanians of Presheva”, declared Enkel Rexhepi, from the Council for Human Rights.
Riza Halimi, MP at the Parliament of Serbia, said that the current law allows the associating and this initiative needs the creation of a document which regulates the areas of competences.
