Public Health Directory ordered the closure of the Labinot Fushë
Aqueduct. According to Hygiene inspectors, the source of this aqueduct
shows high levels of microbes.
The situation is very critical for the 1700 residents of this area, who have opened private wells to supply water to their homes, which again do not fulfill their needs.
“Despite our efforts, the commune has not taken the necessary measures. We were obliged to close the aqueduct. A problem remains the Cerrik Aqueduct, where water is scarce, pipelines are highly damaged and the clarification is not made regularly”, declared Bujar Kllogjeri, director of the Public Health.
The head of the Labinot Fushë Commune says that the situation is very critical, but he cannot take measures, due to the lack of funds.
“We need investments for a new network, but the commune is unable to finance it”, Osman Qosja declared.
Another commune with drinking water problems is also that of Shushice, in Cerrik.
