Activists, citizens and opposition MPs protested against the disposal of
Syrian chemical weapons in Albania. But although their goal was the
same, the protesters were divided in two squares.
Altin Goxhaj and the Alliance Against Toxic Substances started the protest at 13:00, at the Pyramid Square.
Another protest had been warned at the Skenderbej Square by student groups, activists and environmentalists at 14:00.
The Alliance Against Waste Import, which was the first one to start the protests and raise awareness, had cancelled the protest.
AAWI representative, Elton Kacidhja, declared for Top Channel that they are not part of the AATS, since it was a movement organized by the Democratic Party and they don’t want their civil action to be politicized or used by any political force.
