The Albanian Prime Minister was the first politician who voted today,
accompanied by his wife, Liri Berisha. The Prime Minister invited all
voters to participate in the process, and guaranteed that their vote
will be fully respected.
“I invite all citizens to participate, because these elections will decide the next four years. I wish luck to those who vote for the first time and I want to thank the emigrants who have returned for voting”, Berisha declared.
The Prime Minister appealed every party member and supporter to turn this into a day of celebration and understanding.
As for the murder in Lac, Berisha declared that he would release a press statement as soon as he would have accurate information about it. When Top Channel’s journalist asked him about the fact that Top Channel’s camera crew was attacked in Lac, Berisha appealed every commissioner to turn this into a demonstration of the civil values.
President Nishani: Vote with maturity
The Albanian President appealed the citizens to vote with maturity and responsibility, wishing that there would be no more incidents like the one in Lac.
Nishani voted together with his wife and his son, who was voting for the first time.
Rama appealed for large participation
The Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, appealed voters to participate in the elections, since in a few minutes they will decide the fate of an entire generation.
“We must not forget that when a country is occupied by evil, the evils are not the ones to be blamed, but the good people who do nothing about it. I appeal the citizens to participate in this process, because this is the most important thing for them today”, Rama declared.
Meta: This is time for the Albanians to punish with vote
The leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Ilir Meta, declared that today is the day when the government of violence will be punished with vote.
After voting in his polling station, Meta spoke about the murder in Lac, saying that it is a direct responsibility of the Democratic Party and their thugs, who will take an answer from the entire district of Lezhe.
Meta declared that the citizens will say “yes” to democracy and “no” to violence, in order to continue the EU path, rather than returning to the March 26th of Berisha.
Former President Topi: Lac incident, product of old politics
The former Albanian President and leader of the New Democratic Spirit, which races alone in these elections, declared that he is sad about what happened in Lac, and said that this is a product of the old politics.
The NDS leader appealed citizens to distance themselves from similar unnecessary events, and to exert their right to vote calmly, regardless of who they are going to vote.
