In order to guarantee order during the New Year celebration, Albanian State Police said today that it has switched to reinforced alertness, while warning citizens for safe and careful celebration practices.
The officials said that they will be present in every city where there will be celebrations, near the resorts and bars, on highways and in the urban centers. A constant appeal of the traffic police is to respect the traffic code to avoid accidents and especially to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol.
The officers suggested that during these festive days with alcoholic drinks toasts, a safe alternative of displacement is the taxi service.
Citizens should also pay extra attention to avoid injuries from pyrotechnic devices which, according to state police, have been declared illegal.
A tip for families that cook or heat with liquid gas to ventilate the premises and have detectors for gas leaks in the premises.
