The territorial regulatory authorities (IKMT) concluded the action for the demolition of illegally constructed buildings on the coastline of Velipoja beach near Shkodra, which was accompanied by incidents.

A group of people tried to block the action, reports the Shkodra police.

“The police services asked the locals not to prevent the employees of IKMT and the State Police from performing their duties, but they strongly opposed the release of the public space where it would be operated.

“The State Police called on them several times to leave, but they continued to strongly oppose the Police.

“In these conditions, the services of FNSH, the Special Forces and those of the Velipoja Police Post forcibly removed all persons and IKMT continued its work, demolishing 24 illegal objects along the entire coastline of Velipoja.

“Shkodra Police structures carried out procedural actions and the materials were referred to the Shkodra Judicial District Prosecutor’s Office, for the prosecution of 6 citizens.

This is not the first time there are clashes in Velipoja between the police and residents, as earlier in the operation special police units were forced to intervene with tear gas and forcibly remove owners and family members from the structures in Velipoja.
