Two French citizens who tried to leave Albania with a ‘camper’ vehicle where they had hidden drugs and weapons, were arrested today by the police in the port of Durres.
After checks at the exit point of Albania, the camper vehicle driven by the French citizen S. M. and where the French citizen C. M. was a passenger, was found to have a space adapted to hide a sports weapon and a quantity of the suspected narcotic substance cannabis sativa.
S.M., 25 years old and C. M., 28 years old, both residents of France, were taken into custody, while the sports weapon and the quantity of cannabis were seized as material evidence.
The police said that the investigations continue, while the procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution for further actions, for the suspected criminal offenses “Trafficking of weapons and ammunition” and “Production and sale of narcotics”.
