Albanian authorities announced today that 15 other boats have been blocked on the Albanian beaches from Shengjin in the north to Ksamil in the south, while the drivers have been fined for various violations.
12 vessels have been blocked by the Border Police of Vlorë district, while 3 vessels have been blocked by the Border Police of Durrës district.
The stranded vehicles were 6 Jet Skis, 5 speedboats, 3 boats and 1 dinghy.
The violations found were reported as: sailing in a prohibited area, non-registration of the ownership of the vessel, and lack of documentation on board.
In Dhërmi, a Jet Ski boat was blocked and its driver was fined 10,000 lek for sailing in a prohibited area.
In Palasa, Qeparo, Dhërmi, Himara, Ksamil and Karaburun, 2 Jet Skis, 5 speedboats, 3 boats and 1 raft were blocked and each of the drivers of these vessels was fined 10,000 lek for lack of documentation on board.
3 Jet Ski boats have been blocked in Shengjin. 2 of the drivers were each fined 10,000 lek, for navigating in a prohibited area.
The Border Police appeals to all users of watercraft to follow the rules for the use and to respect the areas designated for navigation with these vessels, in order for them and vacationers to be safe.
It also invites citizens to report any violation of the security perimeter and irregular use of watercraft to the free number 112, guaranteeing a quick response by the authorities.
