The three fugitives who escaped from the Drenova prison might have
crossed the Greek border, but the Greek police excludes this
possibility.
Besides the Albanian police which is searching in the Dardha and Devoll forests, where the fugitives were lately seen, the police received information from a shepherd who had seen three people traveling with horses in the Dardha area. The police found a camp, and received a report that three mules had been stolen in the Arrez village.
The fugitives, Eduart Lulo, from Permet; Reiz Haxhiraj, from Vlore and Gezim Toma, from Dibra, were thought to be traveling to Kolonja to cross the border from Gramoz. They stole a vehicle which the police found abandoned. The police found three abandoned mules today, which were beyond the Greek border. This created the possibility that they could have crossed the border to Greece, but the Greek authorities exclude the possibility.
The Court of First Degree in Korce has given the arrest measure for two people who assisted the escape. Albi Moncimi and Olsian Moncimi are accused of illegal arm possession and helping the escape.
After the escape of the seven detainees, nine employees at the Interior Audit Service have been discharged.
The Minister of Justice, Nasip Naco, has transferred nine employees while two others are being prosecuted as people who were informed about the escape.
According to the information, the two employees have not notified the Minister and have not taken measures for preventing the escape.
