2.74 million foreign vehicles have entered the Albanian territory this year, adding 30,034 vehicles per day to the road traffic. From the statistics of the State Police for the past year, it is said that the number of domestic and foreign vehicles in total is calculated at 897,833 vehicles, or 51% more compared to 2018.
Also, regarding road accidents, the number decreased by 22.4%. Even the number of victims from road accidents has decreased by 10.3% with a decrease in the mortality index for 10,000 vehicles by 41.7%.
According to officials, this fact highlights the challenges we face and the importance of correctly analyzing the road traffic reality.
Officials recommend that with the desire and intention that 2024 marks other achievements in safe road traffic, the community should work towards guaranteeing safer vehicles and more responsible drivers, for the fulfillment of this goal with a long-term effect.
