A police officer identified as Sh.T., was suspended today from duty, after shoving and knocking down the journalist of Anila Hoxha and the Top Channel operator with her, near the abyss in Qafë Mollë, on Dajti Mountain.
The Director of the State Police, Gledis Nano, has ordered the Directorate of Professional Standards in the State Police to immediately launch an administrative investigation into the case.
The journalist was reporting the details of finding the body of the executed businessman Ruzhdi Hoxha, when was pushed by the police officer.
The officer justified his action with the fact that the media had crossed the police tape and reacted with harsh tones shoving the journalist and the cameraman.
They both fell to the ground, near the precipice of the mountainous terrain.
In its response, the State Police said that it considers relations with the media as a priority in order to better inform the public and is determined to penalize any employee who performs misconduct and abuses his duty.
