While the process of Dritan Dajti and two other defendants is on a
crossroad due to the trial delays, his co-defendant, the former police
officer Maringlen Muca is continuing with his efforts to get out of
prison.
Muca’s defense lawyer asked his freedom at the Supreme Court with the argument that the custody detention period is over.
But the Supreme Court decided to return the case to the Court of Appeals for Serious Crimes with another judge panel, since this institution has not taken Muca’s request in consideration by refusing to review it.
The accused former policeman is suspected of having contacts with the brother in law of Dritan Dajti, Erges Hoxhaj, arrested for helping Dajti while he was escaping and was hidden in Durres.
According to the trial request secured by Top Channel, Mucaj has secured a police uniform for Dajti which he used to pass police searches through some fake documents.
This uniform was taken earlier by Maringlen Muca from the Korce Police, while he was a police officer at this district.
