Police officer discharged after reported by Fiks Fare

After the report on Top Channel’s investigative program, “Fiks Fare”,
which showed a traffic police officer accepting bribe from a driver, the
Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri, ordered the General Inspection
Directory to verify the violation.
The Ministry says that the police officer, Altin Cela, was taken at the Tirana Police District where he was notified about the suspension.
“The Ministry of Interior thanks ‘Fiks Fare’ and encourages all citizens to report corruptive and abusive acts. The Ministry reconfirms its determination to not tolerate any corruption or power abuse”, the Ministry of Interior says.
The materials will pass to the Prosecution of Tirana for “passive corruption in a public duty”.
