Police had warned for the arrest

The manhunt for the remaining three fugitives is still on, while police
think that they have spread in three different directions, which makes
the search even harder.

The fact that one of the fugitives, Eduard Lula, has some relatives in Permet and Erseke, has raised suspicions that he might try to leave from the Gramoz Mountain to Greece. But the road from the Gramoz mountain is very difficult, due to the snow and low temperatures. Police is searching near Dardha and the forests in the border with Greece. Erseka is one of the possible places where they might be hiding, hence police has intensified the researches even in the mountain. However, no fresh traces have been noted, and the residents haven’t given any valid information to the police.

One of the fugitives, Gezim Toma, from Diber, might have left to another direction. Police has searched in Prrenjas and around all national axes. It will be even more difficult for the fugitives to move, now that their photos have been made public.

While most of the police is focused into searching, investigations are ongoing. Recent information show that the General Prison Directory had been warned for the possible escape. By the end of September, police had sent to the former General Director, Gazmend Dibra, information on which they said that Admir Tafili and another prisoner was planning an escape. The police had found out how weapons would enter the prison, through a refrigerator.

While police is expected to prosecute most of the former officials of the Drenova administration, since the entrance of refrigerators had turned into a way of arming prisoners, one of the fugitives who has now been arrested, Gezim Guri, has posted on Facebook images from his Drenova cell, together with the appliances and cellphone, which was forbidden. Police say that they will investigate every detail, but the main priority for now is getting to the three remaining fugitives.
