The first to face the Exterior Evaluation Commission was the Guard of the Republic head, Gramoz Sako, who was said problematic with his asset declaration.

Sako has declared ownership of a 60 square meters apartment, and in 2006 had taken a loan of 3 million lek, which he repaid within three years.

A dental clinic is also owned by his wife. Sako has also stated that he borrowed from his brother-in-law the sum of 1.4 million lek. The findings of the commission say that the head of the Guard did not correctly declare the property type of his apartment, and also evaded the legal registration for the debt obtained.

The head of the Guard also had problems with the moral standards of his figure, as in 2019 a group of guardsmen have reported to the Foreign Evaluation Commission that there were abusive raises in ranks, mismanagement in the bonuses and irregularities in professional ethics.

Sako turned out to have employed his niece a law officer with the Republican Guard, from 2015-2019, a fact which the Commission found in conflict of interest.

The second officer to appear before the commission Wednesday was the head of counterterrorism state police, Gledis Nano. The commission stated that no violations were found on Nano as he did not conceal his assets and had legal financial resources.

On Thursday before the Commission is expected to appear the head of the Albanian State Police Ardi Veliu, who will be evaluated on his professional skills, assets and moral image.
