The Police confirmed that Turkish citizen Abduselam Turgut, wanted by
the German justice for drug trafficking, had left Albania with a fake
passport two weeks after the Court of Appeals released him from prison.

The Police declared that it was not notified by the Court for this decision and even for the address that he had presented. Police added that they came to know everything only from the media.

Turgut has a photo of his passport blocked at the police, while another copy of this passport, but with another identity, was blocked in Tirana as evidence which shows that the 44-year-old Turkish citizen has left Albania through the Rinas Airport.

Sources said that Abdulselam Turgut had another identity, although his documents were seized after the house arrest, and that he had left Albania by using these documents.

The Turkish citizen has left only two weeks after the decision of the Court of Appeals, which changed the custody measures from prison to house arrest. He left Albania together with Kurdish citizen Elif Katil, a 33-year-old mother of a child.

Together with this woman, the suspect that is wanted by the German justice for drug trafficking, had lived for two weeks in a hotel, and not in the apartment that was declared to the judges. His has stayed in the hotel from March 8th to March 17th. The Turkish citizen had given to the court an address that simply said “Kthesa e Kamzes area”. But the Police say that they have not been notified by the Court for changing the custody measures, so that the police would put him under surveillance. They also added that they heard the news for the release of the Turkish suspect only by the media. Right after hearing the news, the Police had started searching the mysterious apartment at “Kthesa e Kamzes” area, in Tirana.

The High Council of Justice declared that they would verify all circumstances of this decision, but they haven’t given any official announcement for the conclusion of this verification.
