The Tirana Police arrested the first suspect related to the bombs that
exploded recently in the Albanian capital. He is Emirjon Gjuta, 26, from
Kamza. He is accused of obstructing justice.

Gjuta was one of the first 12 people who were taken for questioning by the police, on the day when a bomb destroyed the pharmacy of Bashkim Tahiri, father of the Minister of Interior.

Gjuta has sold the phone numbers that have been used for the detonations. After being interrogated, Gjuta refused to answer who he sold the cards to. He has sold three numbers, one used at Mr.Tahiri’s pharmacy, one at the Muhamet Gjollesha bus station, and one at the Petro Nini Luarasi high school. According to the police, Gjuta might uncover the entire chain of people related to the explosives, although he is resisting. They suspect that Gjuta knows the buyers, that’s why the only accusation against him is that of obstructing justice.

Gjuta has exchanged instant messages with his friends through Facebook, from his cell phone, while being held at the Tirana police. It appears that Gjuta has been several times at the police. He has even posted a picture of the cell where he was being held.

Gjuta was arrested on Friday, 3:30, after the Prosecution raised the obstructing justice charges, since his detention deadline was about to expire.
