PM to opposition: “Are you against seizing drugs?”

In today’s plenary session, when the Parliament was discussing the
opposition’s request for establishing an investigation commission for
the drug issues, Prime Minister Edi Rama appealed the opposition to stop
acting against the candidate status.

“You are proving each day to the Albanian people who you really are, although you have not been a majority for a single day. All you can do is act against the status for Albania. I want to tell you one thing, for what you represent. I and the Ministry of Defense are being congratulated by our partners for what we are doing, and this is not about our exchanges between ccountries, but about the concrete results that we have achieved”, Rama declared.

Prime Minister Rama addressed some questions to the opposition:

“How is it possible that in April of 2013, the police seized only 1.1 ton of hashish, but this april we caught 5.1 tons? Are concerned because of the drug that has been seized? What is you problem? That more drug is being seized? Because you have a problem, and we must know what it is. Are you concerned that in April 2014, 30% more traffickers have been arrested? How is it possible that the cocaine seized in the same period of the year is 750% bigger? No cocaine entered Albania in our time? It entered, but it wasn’t seized”, Rama declared.

As for Lazarat, Rama declared…

“Don’t mention that stronghold, because your case becomes more complicated. Just make up your mind. Is your revolt against the drug cultivators, or against drugs? Are you against the cultivators, or are you against drugs? Are you with Dasho (Head of the Lazarat Commune, member of the Democratic Party) or are you with the police?”, he declared.

Rama declared that despite all of this, the majority is open to cooperate with the opposition.

“Time will show more about our results. I am inviting you to not discredit yourself this early. I expressed my will in the meetings in France and Netherlands to cooperate with the opposition. We will always be here for you. We are here, although you keep disappointing us”, he declared.

The Democratic Party Parliament Member, Flamur Noka, insisted that the opposition’s accusations that the drug traffic with airplanes has reached alarming proportions, and declared that the mafia-style murders have increased in our country.

The Prime Minister answered shortly by saying that there is evidence for ties between the former Democratic Party Interior Minister with people who are being wanted by the police regarding the Divjaka airplane.

“Time will speak about the airplanes that didn’t fall. We have information that Noka has relations with the fugitives”, Rama declared.
