Two vehicles of the Prime Minister’s motorcade were involved in an accident near Korca today, at 13:30, for reasons that remain unclear.
Footage secured by Top Channel show that besides the official vehicle of the Prime Minister’s motorcade, another vehicle, “VW Golf”, was also involved.
Three members of the Prime Minister’s escort were injured. They were sent to Korca for first aid, and then to Tirana for a more specialized treatment. Two of them will be sent to Turkey, since they are in serious life-threatening conditions.
Police is investigating the cause of the accident, and preliminary information suggest that the VW Golf was driving on the opposite lane, causing the motorcade to reduce speed and going off the road.
