Prime Minister Edi Rama said today during the online conference with journalists for the end of 2020 that the vaccination will start within the month of January.

Rama stressed that our country is very close to an agreement to provide the COVID vaccine and added that as in every country of the world vaccination will start by the medical staff, then with the teachers and police, who are the most endangered, and further with citizens.

The Prime Minister reminded that there are few doses all over the world but then they will be added to accomodate all states.

“There will again be another 400,000 quick tests for covid. We are trying to get the vaccine, I am sorry to hear all sorts of theories because the general situation is the same. We are very close to a written agreement, we have been working since the meeting with the director in the USA. We work politically and diplomatically to secure it. It was said that vaccination would start in Northern Macedonia, but only 100 doses came, given by Bulgaria”, said Rama among other things.

The European Council earlier took the decision to come to the aid of the Western Balkans, of which ouAlbania is a part, by approving a package of 70 million euros for easy access to the COVID-19 vaccine.
