At a government meeting this afternoon on measures against the spread of the new coronavirus, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that the cases of infections are expected to increase and called on all citizens to respect hygienic rules so that “we do not turn into killers for others”.
“It is true that it affects the elderly those who are the sickest but we can make no joke. Fear no, but caution yes. Italy’s infections statistics in proportion with their population are small, so most don’t even know they have it, but it can be transmitted to others” Rama said.
He further stated that as the incidence of infection increases, restrictions will also increase and subsequently the striking power against the virus will increase.
“So far of 114 suspected cases of only 10 have been tested positive, as you are aware, it is the first two patients and the other six contacts, which were are close or second-hand contacts.
There are also two cases that have nothing to do with initiator. They are under surveillance and 18 more have been tested. Colossal work has been done by the National Emergency. any person should call 127 if they have had contact with the affected sites, or have had contact with persons who have been in these areas. I would like to underline that about 1000 citizens called yesterday the only unique number we have made available,” stated Rama among other things.
