“The biggest historical salary increase” – this is how Rama called the salary increase for specialist doctors, general practitioners and nurses, with the aim of stopping their departures to other EU countries.
In the meeting held with doctors and nurses of QSUT, Rama said that this salary increase reflects a stable economic growth, while he added that with the increase of 7%, the salary of general doctors will reach 59 thousand ALL.
The specialist doctors in QSUT will have a salary of 174,000 ALL, while general doctors will get 131,000 ALL, and nurses 87,000 ALL.
“The biggest historical increase in wages, for which we have swallowed many things patiently, because it is not only a matter of desire, but also of opportunities.
When the economy breathes, it grows, this increase in wages is a direct reflection of an economic growth that has weathered the shocks.
“We have made a salary increase for specialist doctors and, on the other hand, we have a commitment for a 7% salary increase for doctors and nurses as a whole.”
Regarding the phenomenon of Albanian doctors leaving for Germany due to higher salaries there, the head of government gave this comment: “Our ambition is for the average salary in Albania to reach 900 euros, as it’s not only the German euros, but the houses in Germany that are also expensive, as well as the transportation or other expenses.
Creating the best working conditions is a must, with the investment being made in this maternity hospital, which is a legend of Albanian medicine, it will be perfect” – said Rama from the Queen Geraldine maternity hospital in Tirana.
