Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to critics on the Italian RAI network’s investigation, which called Albania a ‘narco-state’ and its prime minister ‘president of a narco-state’.
In a post on social networks, he ironically assessed the criticism as ‘much ado about nothing’, and claimed that Albania’s international advancements showed that the accusations of connection with the mafia or traffickers are unfounded.
“The impregnated mountain conceived a mouse, and now these mice, lizards and reptiles have their time of the party of victory in others defeat! It’s time for the spirit of evil to come out, which is raging, while Albania can no longer be stopped by anyone and no one can trample on it,” writes Rama in X.
Italian journalists in the program labeled Albania as a “narco-state”, but Prime Minister Edi Rama said that this is untrue, and presented as an argument the fact that the country has opened negotiations for membership with the EU.
