Prime Minister Edi Rama stressed today at the conference on corruption that no illusions should be created on the work of SPAK and other new justice bodies.
According to him, without punishing corrupt judges and prosecutors, there will be no punishments for the corrupt political class, because according to him, the ties between them are strong.
“I am glad that here we are talking about corruption based on facts. Facts highlighted quite independently by a well-known organization with integrity in identifying corruption in all states. It is undisputed that the fight against corruption is essentially a fight for the modernization of the state. The difference between developed countries and developing countries in terms of corruption is not a genetic difference between peoples, but a system difference. Developed countries are not immune to corruption.
“For corruption is like the devil who sleeps within the living. It is part of human life. Albania is still in a process of growth, still a very young democratic state.
“Let us have no illusions, there will be no blows to the high levels, if there is no blows to the high levels of justice. Judges and prosecutors, now that we are talking, will not be committing a crime in courtrooms or take catastrophic decisions in violation of property, public and private entities, with the idea that will not pass in the vetting process”, stated Rama among other things.
